TE KAWA SPORTS CLUB.
ORGANISATION PROMOTED. . A meeting was held in the Storeroom, Te Kawa, on Monday evening last, when it was decided to form a sports’ club for the district. There was a note of enthusiasm about the meeting which it is expected l will he echoed throughout the district, as it is recognised something of the kind is required to 'bring people together. Mr C. Mexted was in the chair. Subject to those gentlemen ’who were not present being willing to act the following appointments were made : Patron: F. F. Hockly, Esq., M.P.; president,* T. Coverdale, Esq. ; vicepresidents, Messrs Broadtbent, Gane, Quin, O’Sullivan, Fleming, Morgan, Lethbridge, and Kay ; committee, Messrs C. Mexted, Henderson, Neilson, Thomson, O’Reilly, Dalziell, Ashton, Brady and Clark ; hon. sec. P. H. Smith ; hon. treasurer, S. Clark. Members’ subscriptions were fixed at 10/, and it is hoped with the aid of a good .subscription list to hold a sports meeting some time in March, and to make the s'ame a credit to the district.
