DIRECT QUESTION TO GOVERN. ME NT. MR YOUNG’S ENQUIRY. By Telegraph—Special to Post. WELLINGTON, This Day. In the House next Wednesday, Mr J. A. Young, M.P., for Waikato, M.P., for Waikato, is to ask the Minister of Public Works whether he will introduce legislation this session amending Section 55 of the Local Railways Act, 1914, so as to permit settlers in local districts to construct light lines of railway of a gauge of not less than 2 feet.
This brings the question directly before the Government.
