PROFITEERING CHARGES.

(By Telegraph. Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday.

Reserved judgment was delivered this morning by Mr McCarthy, S.M., in a series of charges brojught by the Crown in respect of various cases of alleged profiteering. Six of the cases concerned the sale of alarm clocks, and the seventh the sale of a child’s coa't.

The magistrate dismissed the cases in respect of alarm clocks, but imposed a fine of £SO on the D.I.C. in respect of the coat.
