A QUESTION OF LICENSES.
(By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Mr Myers, appearing in support of an application for an additional wholesale liquor license at the adjourned meeting of the Wellington Licensing Bench, raised the point that section 5 of the Act of 1910, providing that the number of licenses should continue the same after a poll if local no-license were not carried, was now \ not in force by reason of the fact that the Act of 1918 did away with local option, and therefore with that particular section, with the result that the number of wholelicenses could be legally increased. The Bench agreed, but acting on its discretionary powers refused to grant an additional license. A second similar application was also refused.
