POLICE COURT.

SATURDAY, December 4TH. (Before MESSRS H. R. RYDER and H. J. Jones, J.’sP.) FURIOUS RIDING. Three young natives, Joe Wahou, Henry Tai, and Jack Te Huia, appeared to answer a charge of furious riding along the Te Awamutu-Ohaupo road on Sunday, November Bth. The defendants, it was stated, were endeavouring to race a motor bike, and in their excitement narrowly avoided a collision with a motor car. The danger of the practice was pointed out, and the prosecution was brought more as a warning to others. Each of the defendants were fined 10s and costs 22s 6d. A week was asked in which to pay, which was granted. Three piohibition orders were applied for and granted by the justices.
