AT TE PAHU.

(Own Correspondent) Mr A. Scholes addressed about 50 electors at Te Pahu last night. The chair was taken by Mr Kerr. The speaker spoke for upwards of an hour on matters of importance to farmers and the district. He criticised the Government for not carrying out their promises to reform the Native Land Laws and Local Bodies Acts. He referred to the canteen scandals, and gave a number of other cases of alleged mismanagement, much to the discomforture of several reformers present. On the motion of Mr McGurk, seconded by Mr Clark, a vote of thanks and confidence was carried. An amendment of thanks only did not find a seconder.
