AT OHAUPO.
On Saturday night Mr Young spoke to a crowded house at Ohaupo. Mr A. Karl was voted to the chair, and in felicitous terms introduced the speaker, who he said was well-known to the audience. Mr Young acknowledged the cordial reception which he received, and thanked the chairman for his kindly remarks. He spoke for nearly two hours, during which he was loudly applauded. At the conclusion he answered a large number of questions to the general satisfaction of the audience, and on the motion of Mr Ranby, seconded by Mr D. Cavanagh, he was unanimously accorded a vote of thanks for his speech and past services, coupled with an expression of confidence, and that he would head the poll at the election. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded a very successful meeting.
