ENTERTAINMENTS.
CONCERT AND HYPNOTIC DISPLAY.
To-morrow night’s concert and hypnotic demonstration to be held in the Town Hall in aid of the Te Awamutu Band is certain to attract a crowded house. The first half of the programme will consist of vocal’and instrumental selections by the leading artists of Te Awamutu. The appearance of Mr Geo. Wilberforce Wilson, hypnotist and mesmerist, who will occupy the second portion of the programme, will, of course, be the feature of attraction. This great exponent is the only hypnotist that is recognised by the medical fraternity. According to, the Hamilton reports Mr Wilson conducted a most successful season there, the papers referring in glowing terms of the marvellous powers and pleasing personality of this convincing entertainment. According to reports his crowded audiences were from beginning to end simply convulsed with laughter. Mr Wilson will only demonstrate on local subjects, and it is understoodthat some of our best-known men have decided to submit themselves for the hypnotist’s experiments. Extra seating accommodation has been arranged for, and the management committee requests intending patrons to secure their seats early, and so avoid disappointment. A dance is to take place at the conclusion of the entertainment. While Mr Wilson is in Te Awamutu several teeth extractions under hypnosis are to take place, the patients being business-men.
