BOWLING.
A meeting of the committee of the Te Awamutu Bowling Club took place in the commercial room "of Jackson's hotel on Wednesday evening. There were present:—Messrs M. S. Laurie (president), W. J. North, R. B. Brown, R. Henderson, A. S. Wallace, G. Gifford, andD. Christian.
On the motion of the chairman it was decided that, together with the name of the colours of the club, royal blue and gold, the amount of £l is be forwarded to the Dominion Bowling Association. It was agreed to defer the payment of sanitarv accounts, and to refer the same to the Domain Board.
Mr Lord was unanimously elected a member of the club. The chairman announced that Mr E. Pyske (Dunedin) had presented a pair of bowls to the club for competition during the coming season. The donor was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
It was resolved that a list of playing and honorary members be placed in the pavilion. A gold medal valued at £3 3s was offered by the president (Mr M. S. Laurie) for " Champion Singles," to be played for outright during the coming season. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the president for his trophy. It was considered rather early to fix a date for the opening of the season, the green having recently undergone improvements in the way of top-dressing, etc. The date will be fixed at a future 1 meeting.
