The football match, Wairaka v. Tautaii, was played at Wairaka on Saturday last, and resulted in a victory for the home team by 16 points to 3. The winners' success was due to the splendid combination of their backs, who scored three tries as the result of fine passing. The Tautari men, who were playing

together for the first time, were outclassed in the early stages of „ the game, when 13 points were '"* piled up against them, but in the second spell they showed to better advantage, and scored 3 points to their opponents' 3. For the winners tnes were scored by Marshall, Heter, and Ngakaho, the latter converting two and ' drop kicking a goal from a mark. The losers' score consisted of a penalty goal by H. Roigard. 9 Next Saturday two matches - will be played at.Tautari, when Parawera meet Tautari, and Wairaka and Maungatautari try conclusions.
