One of the “specials”/who qualified for this honour wp Lindsay Hay, of Maungatauta/i, who was killed there suddenhsf shortly after the strike, by an kick from a horse. His two-ye/r-old daughter Garth Hay, wajf carried in the arms of Mr Yoiuffg, M.P., to join the Cambridge/contingent as they came forward, and was presented by thf Prime Minister personally wnth her father’s medal.
