PREMIER PICTURES.
An artistic entertainment of educational value will be given at the Town Hall on Wednesday next by the proprietor of the Premier Pictures, entitled " Antarctic Heroes," describing the British Antarctic Expedition, under Captain Scott, R.N., which left London in June, 1910. Altogether there are 31 scenes, J which were filmed on the spot by I Mr H. G. Ponting, F.R.G.S., Land which is the only genuine
and authentic record of one of the greatest scientific enterprises ever sent out of England. It is a record of brave deeds done by noble men. The explorers reached the South Pole on the 17th of January, 1912, giving thenlives in the cause of science, and this picture shows part of the legacy left to the nation by these heroes.
A fair audience was present at the Town Hall last night, when a first-class programme was screened, the principal attraction being the comedy drama " That Scamp Ferdinand." Other items included " His Conscience " (drama), " A Tardy Recognition " (drama), "Crook and the Girl" (drama), "The Island of Trinidad" (scenic) " Amateur Apache " (comic), " Bertanos " (comic).
