BRITANNIA AND HER DAUGHTERS.
The request has been made by Mr H. Y. Collins, chairman of the Te Awamutu Public Library Committee, that the above cantata be repeated at Te Awamutu in aid of the library funds. Mr Collins has addressed the following letter to Mr Dil, the conductor :
"I write to ask if you could give a performance of Britannia and Her Daughters for the benefit of the public library. The performers are all now conversant with their parts and are all still on the spot, but will probably be dispersed as soon as the holiday season begins. I think that a repetition of the piece would be supported, as I have no doubt that many were prevented from attending by the inclemency of the weather. I need not point out that the library is a deserving institution, as I am sure yourself and your committee and company will all agree to that." We understand that this letter will be submitted at a meeting ot performers,, which takes place in the old Waipa Post buildings tonight. It is probable that the performance will be on Saturday evening' next, and if so, an announcement will be made in next Friday's issue.
