Poultry came, forward in good supply to -d steady market. Prime conditioned birds were in strong demand, turkeys are short and high prices are ruling. New potatoes, owing to the strike, have taken a drop in price and by general appearance they will incline further. Lemons have improved in value. We quote : : Hens 2s gd to 3s Bd, roosters, prime, 4s 3d to 5s sd, good 3s 3d to 3s gd, turkey gobblers 9s gd to 16s, hens 5s to 7s, geese 3s gd to ss, chickens 6d to iod.
Pigs ns 3d to £1 5s 6d. Potatoes, Canterbury £4 to £4 ios, new, prime, 8s to 9s, good 6s to 7s, small unsaleable onione 14s 9d. Grain : Maize 4s 6d, oats 3 S > bran £4 15s, sharps £6 15s, barley 3s 4d, chaff £7. Butter, bulk, iod to I id, eggs, fresh, is 2d, bacon side gd to iod, ham u'/ 2 d to is, cheese 6d to 6%d.
Fruit: Lemons, prime, ios to I2s 6d, rough and course 6s to 7s, passion fruit 4s to 6s,
