A meeting of the Pirongia library committee was held on Tuesday evening, there being present: Messrs Finn (chairman), Given (secretary), Misses Cameron, McLeod, ■ Aubin, Benner, Messrs Godfrey and Beere. The minutes of the former meeting were duly read and confirmed, after which a sub-committee was appointed to consider the purchase of an additional supply of new books. The statement of accounts submitted by the treasurer showed a debit balance of £6. The secretary tendered his resignation, but at the request of the meeting the resignation was withdrawn.
