HIKUTAIA SALE. At Hikutaia, on Monday last, we had a full yarding and quitted most of the stock under the hammer. Fat cows, heavy weights, made £7 2s to £7 16s, lighter £5 2s to £6 I2s, fat steers, light, £8 ios, 3-year steers £5 17s, store cows £4 to £4 5 S > 2-year steers £3 15s to £4 7s, empty two year heifers £3 10s to £4 2s 6d, yearling steers £2 7s 6d to £2 16s, springing heifers £5 to £7, spring- . ing dair/cows £7 to £ll 15s, fat wethers 25s 6d. MATIERE SALE. On Tuesday, at Matiere, we yarded 564 cattle, and 89 ewes and lambs. There was not a keen demand for cattle, and we sold about half the yarding. We quote : Four year steers £7, three year steers £6 to £6 16s, 2-year steers £5, fat cows £5 15s to £6 ss, 2-year heifers £3 lOs to £3 15s, springers £5 10s to £6, yearlings £3 2s to £3 I2s, ewes with lambs at foot 21s. CLEARING SALES. At Kawa, the following day, we held a clearing sale on acof Messrs J. D. and J. Brown. There was a large attendance, and we report a successful sale. Dairy cows made from £4 lOs to £B, heifers at prqfit £6 15s to £7 Es, backward heifers £4 5s to £5, 2-year steers £4 5s to £4 15s, furniture, implements, etc., at satisfactory prices. On Tuesday, at Matamata, we held a successful clearing sale on account of Mr J. H. McNair. His herd of cows not including pedigree Holsteins, averaged £lO 4s, making from £5 to £2l, pedigree Holstein cows I9gns _to 29gns, Holstein bull, “ Marquis,” 47gns, 2-year Holstein bulls Bgns to I3gns, yearling Holstein bulls sgns to Bgns, implements and sundries at usual rates. HAMILTON SALE. At the Hamilton yards, on Thursday, 'we held our usual stock sale. The yarding consisted of 1870 sheep, 1004 cattle, 115 pigs, and 60 bulls. Both fat sheep and fat cattle were easier than late sales, and store cattle were dull of sale. There was a good demand for bulls. NGARUAWAHIA SALE. On Friday, at Ngaruawahia, we yarded 1394 cattle, but the demand for yearlings to two year olds was very limited. Prices: Four year fat and forward steers £8 4s to £9 2s 6d, three year steers £5 18s to £6 £6 16s, two year steers £3 is to £4 ils, fat cows £5 5s to £6 lOs, two year Jersey cross heifers £3 17s, yearling steers and heifers £2 15s to £3, springers £5 ss. MATAMATA SALE. At Matamata, on Wednesday, we held our usual stock sale. The yarding was a large one, consisting of 808 cattle, 400 sheep, and 40 bulls. Fat hoggets made 18s 3d, store hoggets 15s 6d, yearling steers £2 ios to £2. 19s, choice yearling heifers £3 Is, 18 months steers £3 Ils, fat cows £5 ios to £6 16s, fat steers £lO, store cows £2 19s to £3' 19s, forward cows £4 3s to £4 7s, two year Holstein heifers £4 9s, pedigree Holstein bulls Isgns to 25gns, Shorthorn bulls 6gns to lOgns. 1 There was a good demand for heifers close to profit, choice heifers making up to £ll 15s, others £6 to £7 15s, springing cows £7 to £l3, backward heifers £4 ios to £5.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report NGARUAWAHIA STOCK SALE.

We held our monthly sale in the above yards on Friday, the 17th inst., when we yarded 595 head of cattle and 646 sheep. For grown cattle and store cows bidding was dull; yearlings were dull of sale, and owners’ reserves on sheep were too high, which prevented us doing business with the sheep offered.
