Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: — TE AWAMUTU SALE. We held our usual monthly sale in the above yards on Saturday, 4th inst., when we yarded 348 head of cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers, and we were successful in disposing of the whole yarding. We quote : Fat bullocks light weights £8 ias, forward 3-year bullocks £7l2s 6d, 3-year bullocks £6, 2 to 2%-year bullocks £4 12s to £5 15s, fat cows £6 5s to £7 17s, forward cows £3 13s to £4 17s, cows and calves £4 5s to £5 10s, 2-year empty heifers £3 10s to £4 9s, yearling heifers £3 6s to £3 I2s, yearling steers good £3 2s 6d to £3 13s, yearling steers small £1 15s to £2 ios, heifers close to profit £6 5s to £9 Iss, heifers backward £4 10s to £5 ss, dairv cows £4 ios to £B, fat lambs 15s, slips £l 2s.
NGARUAWAHIA HORSE FAIR. We held our annual Ngaruawahia Horse Fair on Wednesday, Bth inst., when the advertised number of horses came forward. There was a large attendance of buyers and for all good sorts competition was keen, consequently most of the horses offered changed hands at satisfactory prices.
