ENTERTAINMENT AT PIRONGIA.

The Te Awamutu girl minstrels journeyed to Pirongia last Wednesday night and gave a most pleasant evening’s entertainment. Proceedings were opened by a pianoforte solo by Mrs F. Gibson, then an opening chorus by the company, followed in quick succession by song, Mrs A: Gibson ; song, Miss Rose Lang ; recitation, Miss Vera Bryant; song, Mr Seed; song, Miss Violet Lang ; song, Mr Rule; whistling solo, Mr A. Godwin; song, Miss Gracie Rule; cake walk, Miss Vera Bryant; song, Mr Seed; song, Mrs A. Gibson; song, Miss Rose Lang ; song, Mr Rule; song, Miss Violet Lang; song, Miss Gracie Rule; song, Mr Rule; Highland dance, Miss Gracie Rule; song, Miss Rose Lang ; medley dance, Misses R. and V. Lang ; concluding with a farce, ghost walks. The items throughout were rendered in a most pleasing and entertaining manner, and encores were frequently called for by -an appreciative audience. Father Lynch thanked the aueience for their attendance, and also heartily thanked the performers for their entertainment, and after the singing of the National Anthem supper was handed round. The hall was then cleared for dancing. Dance music was played by Miss Mandeno, Mesdames Sullivan, McCarthy and Gibson. The door receipts amount to over £9, and the proceeds are to be devoted to the Presbytery funds.
