During the year a handsome Pavilion has been erected, and the water has been laid on to the courts, both of which have added to the comfort ot the members. During the season Matches v, .re played with Cambridge, Hamilton, Paterangi, and Pi" n.ngia. There was, however, a Idling off in the number of interclub matches. Mr F. D. Several euchre parties and dances have been held during the year the proceeds of which have materially assisted the working off of the debt on the pavilion. The balance sheet for the year slows a very satisfactory position there being a deficit balance of on'y a little over £2O. At this rata the financial position by the end of the ensuing year should show a satisfactory credit balance.

The usual tournaments were plaved off towards the close of the" season and provided some really good exhibitions of tennis. The winners of the various events were: —Ladies' Championship Singles, Mips L. Bond (rose bowl): Ladies' Handicap Singles, Miss Irvine; Ladies' Handicap Combineds, Miss K. McGovern ; Mr. F. D. The balance-sheet, read by the treasurer (Mr E. A. Cox), showed receipts totalling£llS 12s 3d, with expenditure including £92 for the erection of new pavilion of £135 is 3d. Ihis was considered to be highly satisfactory considering the extraordinary expenditure found necessary last season.

Mrs Wade, Messrs Oliphant, Luxford, Morrison, and Newton were duly elected members of the club.

The following officers were elected— President Mr A. C. Cruickshank, vice-Presidents Dr Henderson, Messrs von Stunner, and Galbraith, Secretary Mr W. H. Johns, Treasurer Mr G. The question of obtaining control of the tennis courts at Victoria Park was fully considered. It was ultimately resolved that Messrs Cruikshank, Johns and Cox confer with the Bowling Club and approach the Domain Board with the request that the club be appointed to control that portion of the park used by it. It was resolved that the members subscription be at the same rate as last year, no nominations to be received without a deposit of 2s 6d which will be taken as part of subscription. A recommendation was made to the committee that only financial members be allowed to take part in the tournaments, It was decided to affiliate with the Auckland Association.

Complaint was made by members of the ladies' committee that the Hockey Club had used the crockery belonging to the Tennis Club. The secretary reported that the Pavilion was now locked and that no person or club could obtain access without having first obtained permission from the club.
