“THE FOLLIES.”
To-morrow night (Wednesday) in the Town Hall, the above band of merrymakers will give their farewell performance in Te Awamutu, prior to their departure for Australia, and a new programme will be presented. It is very rarely that so many gifted vocal musicians are found together, and the vocal quartette of the Follies is one of the strongest turns in Australasia. Miss Cissy O’Keefe was the winner of the champion sacred solo at the Wellington competition last year. Mr Clifford O’Keefe possesses a magnificent bass voice which was highly praised by Clara Butt and Melba. Miss Iris Edgar and Mr Kennedy Black hold high diplomas of the Royal Academy and Royal College of Music, London. Miss Lulu Lusanne is a dancing comedienne from the principal London music halls. Mr Hugh Steyne has achieved a great name for himself as England’s youngest Pierrot comedian. Ihe box plan is at Spear’s, where seats may be reserved without extra charge.
