WAIPA HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the above association took place on Saturday evening in the Cosmopolitan club room. Delegates were present from Pirongia, Paterangi, and Te Awamutu clubs. Mr S. A. Empson presided. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. An apology was received from Mr Finn (Pirongia). Letters were received from the Waikato Hockey Association. A request was received from the secretary of Waipa Hockey Club to the effect that the Shamrocks be allowed to alter the name of the team to Rovers. Granted.
A letter was received lrom Mr T. Spear thanking the association for appointing him a vice-presi-dent,and enclosing a donation. The lists of registered players were submitted by the secretaries of the Paterangi, Pirongia, and Te Awamutu clubs.
It was proposed that a list of registered players of each club be sent to the secretaries of the various clubs.
A scale of charges for advertising was received from the WAIPA POST Coy., and after discussion it was resolved that the terms offered be accepted.
A suggestion was made by Mr Wingate-Mullis that collections be taken up at the hockey matches. After discussion it was resolved that at the different matches the clubs be allowed to take up a voluntary contribution, 50 per cent to go to the association and 50 per cent to the respective club on whose ground the match is played.
