WAIPA RACING CLUB.

A meeting of the Waipa Racing Club was held in the commercial room of Luks' hotel last evening. About twentv-five members were present, Mr H. Weal presiding. The minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed.

In view of his approaching departure from the district the secretary (Mr J. Le Sueur) tendered his resignation. This was received with very genuine expressions of regret, all of those present speaking in high terms of the energetic and capable manner in which Mr Le Sueur had carried out his secretarial duties. A very hearty vote of thanks was recorded in the club's minutes, and a sum of money was voted by the meeting for the purpose of making a presentation to MrLe Sueur as a means of expressing appreciation of his efforts to make the club's fixtures successful and enjoyable. Mr J. Spear was appointed to the office made vacant by Mr Le Sueur's resignation. The treasurer's report showed the credit balance to be £6O 5s lid. It was unanimously resolved that the next race meeting be held on the third Wednesday in August. A letter from the Ohaupo Club re amalgamation with the Waipa Club was received. The sum of £2O, being the credit balance held by the Ohaupo Club, was forwarded for inclusion in the funds of the amalgamated clubs. The secretary was instructed to write expressing appreciation of the Ohaupo Club's moral and financial support in the endeavour to build up a sound and well-organised club. Messrs F. H. Vile, J. Oliphant, Spear Senr., were elected members of the Club. It was resolved to write to the Racing Conference, the N.Z. Sports Protection League, and the Member for Waikato, disapproving of the failure to encourage non-totalisa-tor clubs. It was also decided to agitate for the proper representation of non-totalisator clubs at the Racing Conference. It was also decided to make representatons to the governing body favouring the publication in newspapers throughout the Dominion of the amount of the totalisators' dividends paid.
