N.Z. SPORTS PROTECTION LEAGUE.
TE AWAMUTU BRANCH
A meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the New Zealand Sports Protection League was held in the Commercial Hotel last night. Mr H. Weal presided over a goodly number of members of various branches of sport.
Mr J. Le Sueur (secretary) tendered his resignation on account of his departure from the district. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr Le Sueur for having held the office of secretary with such credit to himself and with such good results to the branch. Mr J. Spear was elected in his stead.
It was unanimously resolved that the branch protest against the unnecessary delays in the transportation of polo ponies to all tournaments, and representations are to be made to the district governing body accordingly.
It was also decided to urge that the privilege allowed members of Defence Rifle clubs in the matter of railway concessions be extended to members of affiliated Gun Clubs when travelling to attend championship meetings.
