TO THE EDITOR
SIR, —The householders present at Monday night’s meeting were distinctly told that the school committee was not responsible for the POST’S advertisement, calling the meeting. In your last issue you as distinctly state that the advertisement was officially authorised. As different individual committeemen are being named as usurping the functions of the chairman of committee by inserting tire advertisement unknown to the rest of the committee, it is clearly your duty in fairness to all concerned to state by whom the advertisement was inserted. There should be no need for secrecy. —I am, etc.,
Fair Play. [There certainly is no cause for secrecy. The advertisement w is authorised by the chairman of the late school committee, who, over the phone, instructed that last year’s advertisement be repeated.—ED. W.P.]
