HUGARD’S WONDER SHOW.

As notified by advertisement, the above American company will appear at the local Town Hall, for one night only, on Thursday, May Ist. This company has been showing to crowded audiences in Auckland for an extended period and is spoken of as being above the usual standard of entertainers. At Te Aroha, on Monday, the Flail was more than crowded, and the following Press report speaks for itself: —“Every item on the programme was received with the greatest interest, each act being well worth seeing. The great Oriental act “A Night in a Chinese Palace,” was one of the most weird and fascinating performances ever witnessed by a Te Aroha audience. In this act, during which the stage is a blaze of Oriental grandeur and effect, and not a word is spoken, the magician and his assistant Hit about performing wonder after wonder in a most amazing fashion holding the audience spellbound with the effects produced. Hugard, as a sleight-of-hand performer is superb. His great rifle act is marvellous, and was received with a burst of applause. The humorous items by Mr Geo. Carman, the English’ Comedian, caused much amusement, and were well received, while Miss Myra Errington in her xylophone and musical disc; numbers simply charmed her audience with her music.”
