The contractors, Messrs Tait and Hutchings, of Frankton, for the new block of eight shops on the corner of Alexandra and Arawata streets have commenced work and the foundations are now being pegged out. The buildings will have a floor space of over 6000 square feet, and will be completed in about six months time. The shop fronts will presen't a very fine appearance, and are to be in either tiles or granite.
