HAMILTON.

(Own Correspondent)

The annual meeting of the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co., Ltd., was held in the firm’s office here on Saturday last. There was a large attendance of shareholders, representing the farming community of Waikato generally. Mr J. Barugh, chairman of directors, presided, and in placing before the shareholders the annual balance-sheet and statement of accounts congratulated them on the splendid business they possessed and the gratifying increase in their turnover year after year, this year being the most successful in the history of the company. A substantial increase had to be recorded in every branch of the firm’s business, and a splendid financial success could again be written up. A dividend of 8 per cent was declared, and a very substantial balance carried forward. Naturally there was a general feeling of content amongst the shareholders, and the balance-sheet was duly passed with acclamation, together with a most hearty vote of thanks to the directors and staff for the splendid results attained during the year.

Mr Joseph Knight having retired from the directorate owing to business calling elsewhere, Mr Caldwell, of Cambridge, was unanimously elected in his stead. Business referring to the election of auditor and general matters having been duly attended to, a most successful meeting closed with the usual vote to the chair.
