TOWN BOARD MEETING.

The adjourned general meeting of the Board was held in Bockett’s Buildings List night, the following members being present: — Messrs A. Wallace (chairman), W. Taylor, S. Mathews, J. B. Teasdale and Dr Reekie. The Board’s engineer, Mr H. Munro Wilson, was unable to be present. Correspondence.

A letter was read from Dr Macgill, District Inspector as to arranging Health Inspector Bennett’s district, and suggesting that the Board should increase its contribution. The matter was held over to the Board’s next general meeting. £2OOO Loan. It was resolved that Mr H. Munro Wilson be requested to draw up plans at once for the expenditure of the above loan on the formation metalling and channelling of Alexandra Street starting from about Ricldt’s shop and extending as far westward as the amount of money available would allow. Fire Station.

Mr Teasdale reported that there was a fine site for a station and bell tower on Court House property at the junction of Walton Street and Redoubt Street, and it was resolved to make application to the Justice Department for a grant of a small portion of the land. The matter of additional piping at the junction of Walton and Roach streets was left in the hands of Messrs Wallace and Teasdale. Domain Board Meeting.

The Town Board then resolved itself into the Domain Board. Mr W. J. North’s lease of the Park Road Domain was read. —lt was resolved that the clerk be instructed to - write Mr North requesting him to comply with the terms of his lease in regard to fencing, and noxious weeds. The clerk announced that the Board’s finances showed a credit balance of £l7 Is lid. —It was resolved that the Board take immediate steps to clear noxious weeds and fern from the plantation on the Park Road Domain, and Messrs Wallace and Teasdale were appointed to look after the matter.
