COMMERCIAL.
WESTFIELD FAT STOCK MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly fat stock sale at Westfield on Wednesday, 29th January as under: — Beef: —A moderate yarding. Prices were a shade higher than last week. Choice pens of-prime ox fetched up to fI 5s 6d per hundred lbs. Ordinary quality ox at £1 4s 6d. Cow and heifer beef sold at equal to £1 3s to £l s's.
Veal: —A small yarding, prices were firmer. Heavy runners made £2 5s to £3 2s, choice suckers 30s to 38s, others 3s to 255.
Mutton: —A small yarding. Prices were higher than last quotations. Extra heavy prime wethers made up to 2ls 3d, medium weight wethers 17s to 18s 6d, heavy ewes 14s to 16s 6d, medium ditto Us 6d to 13s 6d. Lamb:—A smaller yarding than usual. Prices were a shade higher than last week. Heavy woolly made up to 16s 6d, good 13s to 14s 6d, light and inferior 6s 6d to 9s. Pork: —An average yarding. Heavy porkers made up to £2 14s light ditto 29s to 365.
