PIRONGIA LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
A committee meeting of the above club was held on Monday, the following members being present: —Mrs Lancaster, Miss Oban, Messrs Scott Chalmers and G. Finn.
The secretary reported having received two trophies from Mr W. M. Chappell, to be competed for by members of the club, the one a leather writing case, and the other a set of military hair brushes in case, and that it was the wish of Mr Chappell that the committee should allocate his trophies. The secretary was instructed to write and express the hearty thanks of the club to Mr Chappell for his most generous gift.
It was resolved that the two trophies be allocated to the ladies, and men's singles handicaps now in progress.
The following ladies and gentlemen were elected to represent the club in their match with Te Awamutu on Saturday next: — Misses Fear, K. Peat, V. Russell, J. Sim, M. Russell, Mrs Lancaster, Messrs Clinch, Scott Chalmers, Finn, Coghlan, Jim Milligan, Jackson, Randrup, John Milligan, Sullivan, Holmes, W. Godfrey, K. Peat.
