OBITUARY.
We deeply regret to chronicle the death on Wednesday, after a long and painful illness, of Mrs Lander, the wife of Police Constable Lander, of Te Awamutu. The deceased had been a resident of Te Awamutu for upwards of six years, but owing to ill-health had been forced to live a very quiet life. Her untimely end will be much regretted throughout the district, and the utmost sympathy felt for her husband and young children in their sad bereavement. Born in the year 1877 in Kilkenny, Ireland, the late Mrs Lander came out to New Zealand with her parents in her early childhood, spending a large part of her life at Christchurch, Wellington, and Palmerston North. She was married in 1902, and came to Te Awamutu in 1906. ’ Her health started to fail about two years ago, and had beengettingrapidly worse during the past six months. She was nursed throughout her long illness by her aunt, Mrs Mulroony, apd her cousin. Miss Murphy, and was attended by Dr Henderson. The funeral takes place to-day at Palmerston North.
