THE GRASS GRUB.

BIOLOGIST SEEKS INFORMATION. Durirfg the present month the majority of the flights of the New Zealand grass grub beetles will occur. As it is necessary to a solution of the problem of dealing with this pest that the fullest details of its life history should be known, the Government Biologist, Mr A. H. Cockayne, is anxious to obtain information as to the exact dates on which the beetles are observed on the wing in the different districts. It is expected that in the Wellington district the first flights will occur about the third week in November, and farmers would render a service by forwarding to the Biologist any observations they may make in the above connection.
