CORRESPONDENCE.

fOiu correspondents opinions tire tlwi-i own; the responsibility of editorial items makes sufficient ballast for the editor's shoulders. It is necessary that all letters for publication should bear the name of the writer — not necessarily fOl publication, but as evidence of good faith. J

TO EDITOR. SIR, —I notice that the Chamber of Commerce has set out upon a scheme for advertising Te Awamutii and district, and I feel sure its action will be heartily supported. Te Awamutu district is second to none in the Dominion

when possibilities are considered. Land values are not excessive, and to the farmer in search of land Te Awamutu district must appeal. In encouraging more settlers to reside in this district the Chamber of Commerce is doing good work. Present owners

of land will benefit as there are hundreds of desirable farmers in the southern districts bent on settling in the Waikato, and by their coming here and causing closer settlement better roads and general facilities will be made possible. In speaking of the

town I hope, the advertising matter will read "a town in making," which is the true position, and yet at the same time indicates to the prospective settler a spirit of progress. Te Awamutu can safely be advertised, and a little boast on the part of residents will not be out of place. I congratulate the Chamber on its action. —I am, etc., Recent arrival.
