PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL TREAT.
The annual Tea Meeting of the Presbyterian Sunday School was held in the supper room of the Town Hall on Friday evening, about 100 children being present, A substantial tea was provided at 5.30, being much enjoyed by the children, and the rest of the evening was passed in games with tne grown-ups. The Rev. Wool lass, in a short address, complimented the children on the good work they had done and the marks obtained, and thanked tin Superintendant and teachers for their earnest efforts. The prizes were then presented by Dr Henderson as lollows :—• Intermediate Division. prize, Miss Annie Palmer; 2nd, Miss W. B. Stewart.
Junior Girls.—lst prize, Miss Sophia Palmer ;*2nd, Miss Helen Atchison.
Boys’ Bible Class. —Ist prize, Master Ken Atchison ; 2nd, Master Walter Middlebrook.
Junior Boys. —Ist prize, Master Lewis Edgecumbe ; 2nd, Master Arthur Edwards.
Infant Class.—lst prize, Miss Margaret Henderson; 2nd, Miss Olive Pellow.
Essays. —Intermediate : Miss W. B. Stewart; Junior, Miss Helen Atchison ; Infants, Miss Gracie Rule.
The prizes for the essays consisted of a silver inkstand, serviette ring, and pin tray respectively, and for the class marks a series of excellent books.
