TOWN BAND.
FIRST APPEARANCE IN UNIFORM.
The supporters of the Town Band are looking forward to the open-air concert in Victoria Park next Sunday afternoon (when the bandsmen will appear for the first time in their new uniforms. The dress —blue serge with black facings relieved with white piping on collar and cuffs, and broad white stripe down tronser leg-fis very effective and reflects much credit on those responsible for the colour design. The whole is set off by a bandolier of white leather with black satchel. The cap is smart and of the latest pattern.. The order was placed with' the Kaiapoi Woollen Co. through the local agent, Mr G. M. A. Ahier, the fit and workmanship being quite up to the company’s high reputation. The band will parade from the bandroom at 2.30 p.m., and commence its programme in Victoria Park at 2.45 p.m. A special collection will be taken up, which it is hoped will prove sufficient to cover the cost of the bandoliers; about £ls.
