It was resolved that it be left to the president and green superintendents to fix an opening day early in October, due notice to be given to members. Mr Phillips desired to be informed why the programme _ of the year's work, including matches with a number of outside clubs, had never been carried out.
Mr Stewart (secretary) explained that this had not been the fault of the Te Awamutu Club. The original arrangement had been to play for a banner, the matter being fixed by delegates, from the clubs interested. One or two matches were played, but the Cambridge and Hamilton Clubs refused to play for the banner when the time came for their matches, and the matter fell through.
Pavilion
Tlf| Rev. Woollass reported that he had formed with Mr White a deputation to Messrs Cox and Empson, representing the Tennis Club, with a view to the settlement of the question of the use of the pavilion. Having regard to the fact that the Tennis Club was indebted to the Bowling Club in the sum of thirteen pounds for repairs to the pavilion he had suggested that a sum of £25 should be offered by the bowlers to buy out the rights of the Tennis Club to the pavilion, and to deduct from that sum the £l3 still due. He would like to have the opinion of the meeting on the matter. _ After considerable discussion it was decided to endeavour to arrange amicably by carrying out the suggestion of the Rev Woollass, namely to offer the Tennis Club £25 for their rights to the Pavilion less £l3 due for repairs. A sub-committee consisting of Rev. Woollass and Messrs J. S. Phillips and A. Wallace was appointed to look after this matter. It was decided to record in the minutes an appreciation of the work done by the green superin-
tendents. The secretary was instructed to arrange a series of matches between the South . Auckland association and the Te Awamutu club as early as possible, and it was resolved that the club officially recognise championship singles, championship pairs, and championship fours by the issue of yearly certificates to winners of these events.
