ST. JOHN'S CEMETERY IMPROVEMENT.

A meeting of the committee in charge of the above took place in Bockett's buildings yesterday afternoon. Present: Revs. Clarke and Woollass, lyiessrs von Sturmer and Bockett (treasurer). The chair was taken by the Rev. Clarke. ' The treasurer reported that ±45 had already been collected, and that there were a number of promised subscriptions at present unpaid. The chairman stated that he had received a letter from the Victoria League. Auckland, stating that a sum of £SO had been voted for Te Awamutu. After some discussion it was decided that the Revs. Clarke and Woollass canvas the town for further subscriptions, and that the committee meet on 29th ins| to arrange for the necessary wort to be done. Meanwhile thfc treasurer was instructed to seh Mr J. W. Warren, and get an estimate for the cost of fencing the cemetery, including a concrete wall with iron railing on top to face the road.
