MILLER CUP COMPETITION.

The annual shooting competi-

tion for the Miller Cup was held at Mr H. O. Death’s farm, pirongia, on Friday last, when a most enjoyable day was spent. Shooting was commenced at 9 a.m., at a range, of 300 yards. Later in the day a second round at 500 yards was fired. Following are the results :

Corporal B. Sim and Private J. Milligan tied for first 1 place','but as the highest points for actual shooting were gained by the former competitor, he was declared the winner of the cup and medal/ Sergeant-Major W. Hall, with but one point less for actual shooting, was awarded the military bridle. A heavy cross wind hindered the shooting, and but for this the scores would have been very much bigger.
