KOROKANUI.
(Own Correspondent.) On Monday Mr W. Goodfellow, managing director of the Waikato Co-Operative Dairy Co., met a large number of dairy suppliers and others interested at Mr Jas. Kay’s residence. Mr W. R. Lawry was voted to the chair. Mr Goodfellow explained the working of the company for the past season, and also gave an outline of the prospects for the coming season, which are undoubtedly very good, and those present expressed themselves as being well satisfied. A committee of four, consisting of Mr W. Dunkerly (chairman), Mr G. Gibson, Mr J. Kay, and Mr W. R. Lawry, was appointed to arrange for the cream carting for the coming season. It was ascertained that there will be about 500 cows milked in Korokanui and Wharepuhanga, and it was decided to call tenders at once. A vote of thanks to Mr Goodfellow and the chairman brought the meeting to q dose. The settlers have petitioned the Board of Education to have Korokanui declared a school district, so that they can appoint a committee to attend to school business.
The telephone line has come this far at last, and in a few v ecks we hope to be connected with Te Awamutu. This will be a great convenience to the district.
