TE AWAMUTU v. KIHIKIHI. The above match took place at Bockett's paddock on Saturday last. There was a fair number of spectators. The game resulted in a win for Kihikihi by 12 points to nil, their 25yds mark took possession of the ball, and through a Te Awamutu player being offside seeured a free kick, C. Wilson being successful at goal. Kihikihi 3 Te Awamutu 0 From the kick off, Kihikihi secured the ball, aud after excellent work by Thomson, Sutherland and Kay the latter scored a try. Henderson' shot at goal was unsuccessful. Kihikihi , 6 Te Awamutu... ... 0
Changing ends, Te Awamutu livened up considerably, Richardson and Arnett doing good work with their live kicking. Half time was called with the scores unaltered.
The third quarter brought new life into the home team. The forwards were very prominent here, keeping their opponents always on the alert. For the remainder of the quarter Kihikihi took charge, resulting in D. Kay scoring, Henderson's shot at goal failed.
On changing ends the bad light hindered play a lo.t, both teams being in doubt as to where the ball was going next. From a line out Kihikihi obtained the ball, resulting in Clifford scoring between the post. An unsucessful attempt at goal brought a wellfought game to a finish with the scores: —
