BOWLING.
On Wednesday afternoon two teams of bowlers from Te Kuiti visited Te Kuiti, and met local players on the Victoria Park greens, when a most enjoyable match was held. The results of the play went in favour of the visitors by two points, the aggregate scores being 40 —42. The green was in good playing order, and the greens generally presented a very pretty appeai-ance. Afternoon tea, provided by the ladies, was partaken of, and much appreciated. Following are the results, the visitors being mentioned first in each instance :
Julian, Albertson, Stephens, and Williams (skip) 17, lost to Wallace, Laurie, Brown, and Clements, jnr. (skip) 24. Erickson, W. J. Phillips (substitute), Mathews, and Spencer (skip) 25, beat Clements, senr., Bowden, Woollass, and White (skip) 16.
The return match will be played at Te Kuiti to-morrow (Saturday), when the following teams will represent the local club :
First Match : Clement, senr., Wallace, Clement, jnr., Laurie (skip). Second Match : Laurie, Clements, senr., Wallace, and Clement, jnr. (skip).
