TE AWAMUTU LADIES’ HOCKEY CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The adjourned annual meeting of the above club was held in the Public Library rooms last evening. There was a good attendance. The report and balancesheet were read, showing a credit balance of £2 13s 9d. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mrs W. J. Phillips; president, J. A. Young, Esq., M.P.; vice-presidents, Drs Henderson and Reekie, Messrs E. I. Miller, D. Bockett; secretary and treasurer, Missß. Alexander; vice-captain, Miss Rita Rickit; committee, Misses T. Mclntosh, T. Hutt. A. Bruce, M. Jones, A. E. Alexander, and D. Thomas.

It was decided to write to Mr S. A. Empsoii re coaching the team for the season.

A challenge was received from the Te Kuiti Ladies’ Hockey Club, asking that a match be arranged at an early date. It was decided to reply stating that a match be played in June, owing to the number of attractions taking place here during May.

The first practice to take place on Wednesday (to-morrow) afternoon next at 3 p.m.
