TE AWAMUTU RAILWAY STATION.

MPROVEMENTS GRANTED,

Mr J. A. Young, M.P., has received the following letter from the Minister of Railways under date 2nd May: — “ With reference to your representations regarding the necessity for improved facilities in the receipt and delivery of goods at Te Awamutu Railway Station, I have the honour to inform you that instructions have been given for the extension of the station telephone to the goods shed, and an additional appointment to the clerical staff has also been made. A clerk will be placed in the goods shed to take receipts and deliver goods, and this arrangement will, I understand, enable the Department to deal more promptly with the requirements of those having business at the station.”
