PIRONGIA.
(Own Correspondent.)
A meeting of the Pirongia creamery suppliers was held on Tuesday. The attendance was good, and Mr. H. Peat was unanimously elected chairman. MrH. O. Death explained that the meeting had been called for the purpose of hearing the opinions of suppliers on the proposal to approach the association to endeavour to obtain a uniform rate,of payment for suppliers at both large and small creameries. Under the existing conditions the rate of payment for butter-fat was entirely dependent upon the immediate supply at that creamery. This was not the true spirit of co-operation, and the experience of the past had proved that men had carted their supply for many miles, and even right pasta small creamery, in order to supply to a large creamery. Further discussion followed, the meeting being unanimous, and a motion was carried to the effect that the Association be approached in the manner indicated Messrs H. Peat, Geo. Finn, and H. O. Death were appointed to take any further steps in the matter deemed eecessary.
