KIHIKIHI SCHOOL PICNIC.

(Own Correspondent.)

The downpour on Monday night made the outlook for the children’s picnic the following day rather doleful. However, although the threatening clouds at times made their appearance, the weather on Tuesday was all that could be desired for a day’s outing. The picnic was held in the domain, these grounds being most suitable for this form of amusement, and although the attendance was less than on former occasions, the gathering was very successful and enjoyable. It was in every sense a children’s day, every devisable race and competition being arranged for their amusement, the teachers and working committee not sparing themselves in their endeavours to further the enjoyment of the scholars.
