FRANKTON STABBING AFFRAY.
John Graham, who, it will be remembered, was one of the two men wounded by Axel Suertinge in a stabbing affray at Frankton on-the afternoon of Saturday, November 18th, died at-the Waikato hospital at 6 o'clock on Wednesday morning.
Recognising the seriousness of the man's condition, theliospital authorities notified the police, and on Tuesday afternoon, in the presence of Sergeant Hastie and Messrs W. F. Mason and J. E. Tidd, J.P.'s, Graham's dying depositions were taken. This statement, which was taken whilst the injured man was declining fast, supplied the details leading up. to the stabbing affray, and were much in accord with particulars already published. The result of the inquest, which was held at Hamilton yesterday, showed that death was due to septic pneumonia, and a verdict to this effect was accordingly brought in. The medical evidence called showed that the stabbing had nothing to do with the death of deceased, and did not directly accelerate death, although there was a possibility that had deceased not been stabbed he would now be alive.
