OTOROHANGA TOWN COUNCIL.
The Otorohanga Town Council met on Monday in the Council's office.. There were present: —■ Messrs J. O. Ormsby (chairman), Hari Nemara, and H. J. Osmond.
A letter was received from the Under-Secretary of Native Affairs informing the Council of Mr Vicary's appointment as a member of the Te Kuiti Town Council. The clerk was instructed to write informing Mr Tateson that he is liable for rates. A letter was received from the Inspector of Noxious Weeds re allowing sheep to graze on the roads to keep the ragwort in check.—The clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt of the letter, which would receive due consideration.
It was decided to advertise, 1 inviting applications for the position of clerk to the Council.
It was decided to hold a special meeting to pass a by-law to control itinerant traders. The clerk was instructed to write to the Board's consulting engineer at Hamilton asking him to come to Otorohanga at an early date with a view to preparestimates of the'work required t° be done in the Otorohanga township.
