TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.

A special meeting of the Board took place on Friday evening last, there being present Messrs Chas. Bowden (chairman), A. Wallace, G. White, and S. Mathews. The chairman reported that Mr Suggate, civil engineer, had arrived during the forenoon and taken the rough levels in connection with the sewerage. Mr Suggate was present at the meeting, and gave details of the proposed work as instructed. Alter consideration and discussion it was decided to make application to the Government for a loan of £20,000 as under : WaterSupply £ 15,030 ; Sewerage, £2,500; streets, £2,500. The engineer pointed out that the amount set apart for sewerage would only do a very small part of the township. The clerk was instructed to proceed with the raising of the loan.
