BUTTER RETAILED AT 11½d.
A REPORT FROM THE WEST COAST. It was stated in Wellington yesterday that butter was being retailed at on the West Coast of the South Island. A Wellington firm was asked to quote for an order. It did so, and the reply contained the above statement. It is not known whether there are special circumstances, but il%d is 2%d less than the Wellington retail price. It is not the first time that the coast has sold at much less than other places.
