RANGIAOHIA.

(Own Correspondent.)

It is seldom that one public meeting is insufficient to meet the social and commercial requirements of our but such proved to be the case on Friday evening last. The Hairini Hall had been already engaged for a dance when application was received for the use of the hall for the annual meeting of the suppliers to the N.Z. Dairy Association's Rangiaohia creamery. The local school committee, however, came to the rescue by granting the use of the school to Mr Spragg and his suppliers. Luckily, therefore, everybody was provided for. At 8 p.m. when the (Town?) Hall and school building were lighted, and the glare of various motor-cars came o'er the. scene it certainly showed that Rangiaohia (for once) had been roused from its usually quiet and sedate condition.

The dance held in the Hall was a great success, although there was not a very large number present, yet those w.lO were, were certainly enthusiasts, and altogether everything passed off most pleasantly. The youngpeople of the district who were promoters of the dance, deserve great praise for the able way in which the function was carried out, and it is to. be hoped the success obtained will lead to a renewal of their efforts frequently during the winter season. Not being a full-blown press representative, " your own " was too bashful to intrude on Mf. c Spragg and his suppliers at their meeting, but from information received it.would appear that the meeting showed a very successful state of affairs generally, notwithstanding, the continued drought just terminated. _ Mr Spragg gave particulars similar to those he has given in other districts, and everybody seemed satisfied with the position shown, and were unanimous in their appreciation of the services of the local creamery manager, Mr Butterworth. who is deservedly very popular throughout the district.
